Chem 122-Today we started our first set of labs. A reminder that the lab is open next monday at noon and wednesday at noon for completing and/or doing a lab you haven't finished or were absent for.
Chem 121-Today we did a test on Chapter 11
Chem 112 P4-We are going to go over calculations with the mole. We will be changing from -->moles to mass to particles and
-->particles to moles to mass . I will pass out a worksheet(see link at left of this page) that needs to be started in class and completed for monday. We are also going to look at single replacement reactions which I will give notes on. (p 153-154_) . I AM ALSO PASSING OUT A MAJOR REACTION ASSIGNMENT WHICH WILL BE DUE NEXT WEDNESDAY NOV 21. Chem 122 Midterm covering Ch 10, 11 and 14
Chem 121 We are going over the answers from the homework check from yesterday. We are going to group review practise questions on Ch 11.
Chem 112 Midterm covering Ch 1, 2, 3, 4(mol <--> mass, writing word/formula equations, balancing equations and theory from 4.1 in text). Be sure to come prepared with a calculator and writing utensils. Did you memorize your little blue table of formulas and the molecular formulas on page 116? What about the scientists and the problem solving model?

-->After a long break it is good that the midterm isn't until tomorrow :)
--> Today we worked on some easy theory questions with Organic Chemistry.The handout for these questions was passed out in class. These must be completed for next thursday. Also for next thursday, the review questions on alkanes to Aromatics must be completed.
--> We spent the last half of the class in our groups from last thursday working on practical midterm type questions.
-->Good luck studying.

--> Today we did a homework check on type 1 and 2 multistep questions, and the theory questions.
--> We did the third type of multistep calculation.(This one involves writing an equation and using a calorimeter type calculation.) The following questions were assigned: p 391 23 a, p396 #26 and p 391 #24
--> Reminder: There will be a test on friday Nov 16 on Ch 11.

-->Today we worked on solubility of molecular compounds(there were notes for this) and reviewed solubility of ionic compounds(using the table). I assigned p 153 #38 all to be done in class.
--> The class got back into groups to spend more time on typical midterm problems and multiple choice questions.
There were some group members who did not write down their answers last day.(Remember this is worth marks)
